Running 46:48 [3] 4.5 mi (10:24 / mi)
shoes: Wave Nirvana 3

Tested the ankle this morning. I had turned it completely over 9 days ago at the Ontario Orienteering Championships. Three times. I have not run since. The ankle has been tightly wrapped, massaged daily, constantly kept in motion, and otherwise pampered with a proactive dynamic healing regimen.

The swelling has all but disappeared. Walking is no longer ridiculously painful. Motion seemed good.

I took off on a short run in the predawn foggy and crisp morn. A sharp pain revealed itself on the opposite side of the formally swollen outside ankle. It remained fairly excruciating for 3/4 of an hour. The pace was all I was willing to do. But it was embarrassingly slow.

I may go out again tomorrow. Either way, I have proven to myself that I can run. Albeit slowly. With three days of competition this weekend at Delaware Water Gap, I hope to at least take part in the event. With nearly 700 competitors the forests will be filled with people. I don't want to miss that.
