Adventure Race race 7:47:00 [5] 48.0 km (9:44 / km)

Ended up crashing Dee & Aud's twosome for this race. I knew it would be a tough go for me keeping up with these two. Hopefully they don't think I slowed them down too much.

Great to race with such strong and experienced racers. Got a lot of tips & advice along the way & really felt how it is too push oneself past the comfort zone. Especially since walking any part was not an option. As Aud pushed me up the hills for the last couple hours, there were times I really just wanted to say "I need to walk, just 20 seconds". But I just kept running and let her push me as much as she wanted. I wasn't going to complain after they graciously let me race with them. After all is was what I signed up for.
I did manage a good stick in the eye which still smarts, a bee sting an hour or so into our trek & too many scracthes to count, due to wearing shorts sleves and pants cause of the heat. Investing in knee length socks for such occasions. I love war wounds but this just looks like I was uber aggressive with the razor. :-)

The bike was good. We managed it in about an 1hr and 15min. Definitely need to stop wimping out and lift my sit, so I can climb more efficiently. Practicing drafting was great.

Lack of water was a little tough. I was more concerned really then dehydrated. Should have put more in the boat, no harm, just in case.

Managed the win and actually the top for all female teams. Will update overall placement once the full results are up.
I think we were 20th out of 73 teams that finished.

Great venue. Great course. Flawless organization. Happy, familiar faces racing and volunteering. Fabulous team mates. Great day out doors & good fun catching up at the after event.

24km bike, 4km paddle, 20k trek (educated guesses)
