TIme spent jogging around hanging white and yellow controls. There was also some walking carrying water to refreshment controls but I'll neglect that.

Orienteering 1:06:22 [4] 11.0 km (6:02 / km) +200m 5:32 / km

Compassless memory-O of my own Blue course. Made one mistake due to lack of compass turning the wrong way when I hit a different trail coming out of a block of forest than I anticipated. Hamstrings feeling fatigue by the latter half to third.

Traditionally loggable half of the time I spend hanging controls and surveying the park's new interpretive trails, less an allowance for time standing still at control locations. Got rained on lightly for less of this than expected.

Rain not very heavy yet as I cycled in. A bit heavier as I cycled home to receive delivery of controls and did a round trip to the Marie Reed pool.

Note

It appears virtually certain that the 5K I entered, scheduled for tomorrow, will be postponed on account of the flood watch for the region (not so unreasonable, I suppose, for a race course a meter or so above normal Potomac water levels). After my last such race having been cancelled on account of snow, I look forward to the plague of locusts that will presumably derail my next planned road race. Or perhaps we'll stick with weather - hail, dangerously high winds, maybe even extreme heat.
