Orienteering 1:05:00 [3]
Training in Bow Valley Provincial Park. Took it fairly easy. Had troubles with the map, largely with old vegetation mapping but also particularly in the detailed negative topography area containing the last four or five controls (which, unhelpfully, had been removed before I got there). No matter how slowly and carefully I took things, the contours and the reality refused to align for me and stay aligned. Baffling given it's hardly a landscape type subject to large erosive changes - maybe the contours weren't so good to begin with? I didn't have any similar problems in the very similar terrain on the southern part of Mount Laurie earlier in the week.
