Trail run in Rock Creek Park. North and south on the Valley Trail. Mileage is a guess but I figure the shoe mileage tracking is a good idea even with the inputs somewhat approximate. I bought new shoes Saturday afternoon - can't hurt anything but my wallet, might help my knees, which felt sore again after this workout.

Note

Spent about 2.5 hours on the University of Maryland campus finishing drawing features on what were construction sites last year. Meet scheduled in just over two weeks. Then went downtown for film and talk by Peter Kubelka (films lasted about 18 minutes all told, talking took up the balance of two hours) and ended day with the Washington Ballet (world premiere engagement of another take on The Rite of Spring). Lots of walking - no training.

Ran the non-Metro bits of going home through the snow, partly to save time, partly to test the hip muscle. It held up but I think I'll avoid intense running for another day. Bad enough my knees are giving warning signs - I don't need a soft tissue injury slowing me down just before the beginning of the competitive season.

Commute plus to and from Kennedy Center for Alvin Ailey. Hip muscle still complaining. I think I'm on the injured list in terms of running much beyond a jog but cycling seemed fine.

Tuesday Feb 22, 2005 #

Form exercises 41:01 [3]

Warmup/cooldown, bum kicks, A's, B's one set of bounding and 7x100m strides. Slightly truncated workout due to some muscle wrapping around the right side of my pelvis beginning to complain every time my right foot hit the ground forcefully.

Crunches, etc. while watching 24. Was at a training course downtown all day so no cycling commute. Hoped the rest would give whatever is up with my knees a chance to hit the road.
