Running 15:00 [2] 3.0 km (5:00 / km)

Long jog to start of Day 3.

Orienteering 32:28 [4] 3.53 km (9:12 / km) +150m 7:35 / km

BC Middle Champs - another steady race in noticeably more runnable but still tough forest. Biggest mistake was going 150 straight on the second last control instead of taking the trail option.

Orienteering 1:26:06 [4] 7.78 km (11:04 / km) +190m 9:52 / km

BC Classic Champs - good steady race except for one bad attack a mere 80 meters from the end of a trail. Actually, my route choice for that leg was also suspect. For the most part, I think the amazingly and uniformly deadfall strewn "white" woods slowed me down to a speed at which I'm navigationally competent.

Note

Day 1 of the BC Orienteering Championships - just found out a friend has moved to Vancouver so, what the hell, I'll go to the races and be his first house guest. I'll finally have time to see Vancouver other than from a moving car.

Orienteering 15:27 [5] 2.7 km (5:43 / km) +104m 4:48 / km

BC Sprint Champs - serious mistake on first control cost me competitiveness; otherwise a good race.

Modern Dance 1:08:00 [2]

Nejla being out of the country, Carla led a review of the choreography we learnt in the first class a week ago as a refresher for the muscle memory. I think we ended up changing a few subtle things but Nejla can correct those on her return and it definitely helped to cement the basic sequence of actions.
