Cycling 1:50:00 [3]

My last trip to and from Fountainhead for a while.

Hiking 2:00:00 [1]

Putting out water and hanging White and Yellow courses.

Note

The quest to set courses for a local event without doing anything wrong continues. I may have made orange a bit too hard and I would not have intentionally put controls coded 76 and 79 in adjacent reentrants (though on different features) but I could shrug those off. All three of my advanced water controls going dry by the end of the day is harder to rationalise, nice though it is to have had a turnout high enough to make that happen. At least one more year before I run the perfect event and announce my retirement :)

Cycling 2:15:00 [3]

Metro to and from Fountainhead again but going by Sid Sachs' to pick up control bags on the return journey this time. Wasn't really doing 3 intensity by the end what with banging my right kneecap on something towards the end of the day and general exhaustion - it's a good thing I don't generally set courses more than once a year.

Hiking (Course setting) 7:00:00 [1]

Designing white, yellow and orange courses on the fly. I'd had inklings before but having now surveyed the trail network to the north and west of the parking lot in order to avoid inflicting a more than twenty year old map on innocent beginners, it's no wonder I've gotten horribly confused so many times in the first and last few hundred meters of courses at Fountainhead. The existing map doesn't show more than half of the trails out there and perhaps a quarter of the trails it does show in the area are well on the way to disappearing.
