Note
Never let it be said that attending the COF AGM is pointless. I skipped the model event so making three fairly big errors and being slow on Friday was easy enough to take. Having then spent much of the afternoon listening to the debate on recommendations to prevent and treat heat exhaustion, when I was fairly clean and still off the back of the pack on Saturday it occurred to me that I might not be hydrated properly due to electrolyte problems. I did a long and easy but massively sweaty trail run the previous Sunday in Rock Creek Park so it seemed plausible that I might have been borderline salt-depleted coming in. Must do some research into whether it's really likely that I would have felt fine in the interim but while I wasn't much if at all cleaner technically on Sunday after an overnight salty food binge, I was significantly faster relative to the field. Even somewhat faster in TPK, I think.
