With FHS band to Cinci for competition. Left 5am, intended return at midnight. At 7 one of 3 buses broke a u joint in the middle of nowhere on the highway. The eventual outcome was a major delay - shuttled 10 miles to a wide spot in the road, holed up all 100 students and a dozen or more parents etc in a wendy's until 10, then a hotel ballroom until 1. On the 3hr rest of the trip my job was to chat with the busdriver to keep him from falling asleep (he'd been up since 1 the previous AM). Took some work, but he kept his eyes open.
