PM. Set controls for kendall nightO. Very breezy with muddy trails. Spent AM helping band at infocision. Found out afterwards that they didn't make the finals so now I am free to parrticipate in nightO. I'll ask not to be in the official results.

Running any course that you know well ahead of time is a very different experience, even at night. This must be what it's like for stan and dave most of the time. I really didn't have to look at the map much, which is good because i had a lot of trouble reading it without stopping, reaiming my light, and looking carefully. I was pleased that, at least under these conditions, i was able to execute at night. Nice to focus on one thing. I went about 5 minutes faster than Stan tonight (and he's hobbled by injury!), which is sobering given that i had so many advantages.

Control pickup. Managed to drift pretty far off on one leg i hadn't practiced on.
Collecting mimulus alatus seeds in brecksville s of golfcourse with earnest harris (student who had never been offtrail before). Used o map and last year's quickroute to find plants. Prorated from 1hr. Beautiful mostly overcast fall day at peak color
Control vetting for night o at kendall. Spent 25 or more minutes on the vague northern edge of the trail to confirm one point. i think the contours are slightly off here. Some really nice legs, great peak fall color, good running conditions, open woods. I am happy
