XC ski 57:40 [3]
rhr:48 slept:8.0 shoes: Salomon Escape 7 Pilot

Finally a little time to ski! Not much though, so just down to memorial trail head and on towpath north to merriman. Although the frozen crust still is a problem on untracked stuff, as hoped the walking track here was smooth enough to get ok glide. But poling was difficult since the baskets go through the crust with some resistance, so it was hard to get a good push.
Afterwards I definitely knew that i'd been working out for several days (the snow/ice runs are real workouts, not like an easy run or a bike; and the skiing uses those muscles I don't use otherwise....).

slept:7.0 shoes: Screwshoe2 - Brooks Adrenaline

St V am - pretty clear paths with hardpack. Return on exchange, which was a minefield of glaze ice, bumpy ice, slush, etc. And had a big backpack of computers etc. as well.

1/2" breakable crust down memorial sometimes banged angkles, but TP had less give to it and thinner crust. Cold (6F). Return via crosby on snow/ice streets, with 2 pushes of 3.5 and 1.5 min on better footing.

ice storm made running and skiing bad ideas, and i'm still time-strapped, so snuck this one in

other (snowshovel) 30:00 [1]
slept:7.5

The snow/ice storm we were warned about has started. mostly very wet and heavy snow so far, but enough (2") and with enough more trouble to come that both the schools and univ canceled for the day. Bathroom tilers were slated to arrive though, so I shoveled the drive with Jason. I had no idea this was such heavy snow! No pushing, just shoveling today (newspaper today said that all snowfalls to date had very low water content, which explains why i had such an easy time with pushing snow around so far this winter).

shoes: Screwshoe2 - Brooks Adrenaline

I was able to work at home until about 9:30, but for what I am doing i need real concentration, so ran in to school on market, worked until 3:15, then returned on crosby. Very variable conditions - ice, slush, loose snow, hardpack snow, etc.

TP in, aqueduct return, lots of mostly packed snow both ways. About 1:04 for the commuting, then took JCKC on a surprisingly vigorous trip through the neighborhood.
Great skiing conditions the last few days, but too many family obligations and too much work for school to find time. Rats!
