Orienteering -race 1:05:29 [4] *** 5.3 km (12:21 / km) +400m 8:58 / km

I was leading the BNP garlic mustard pull at 1, so had to sneak in for the first start at 11:30, with a real need to get in by 12:30 (or at least before 12:45). TIght schedule!, Phew! Shame i couldn't stay to chat with others.
Stas-course, so it was a great and challenging design. Good navigation today, only two navigation issues to speak fo - controls 2 and 3 weren't yet placed, so I had to run around about 6 or more minutes (finding 4 along the way, confirming location) to confirm lack of control. Then on 8 drifted drifted left but fairly quickly recovered (but it cost a lot more climb.
Most legs i opted to go straight, but I think it would be useful to try some alternate routes around. Maybe tomorrow. Got pretty pooped from all the climb around 40 minutes, and gutted it out to finish (mostly uphill). I am a little behind on physical prep - especially with the pig coming up so soon. Stas gave 400m climb, but when I count it up it looks more like 230 or so

Felt zippy this AM in shorts along towpath, and treated to a group of 4 kingfishers above the beech street trailhead, calling and swooping. Man, they are cool! And practically in downtown!
Returned on exchange, by which time temp was 78F, and i didn't have much zip.

Running 15:00 [1]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS9-1

June Carter Keller Cash (our 1yr old deaf dog) has way too much energy, so I took her for a 'run' of about a mile. She trotted good for 1/3 of the way, then got distracted by smells, other dogs, walkers, etc, and kept stopping (perhaps because a bit tired, perhaps because out of her usual radius). I was just h appy to be outside, so it was pretty fun. I'll need to do more - she could probably go for a good ways once trained and habituated.

Ribs are slowly improving, but although they don't stop me, i always sense the tightness and discomfort. I wont' record being healed until that happens. Still not ready for intervals.

Easy in on market, back on exchange. Still some soreness in the chest, but no breathing pain, and at least i can do something.
Intervals will have to wait

Elliptical while watching NCAAs. NOthing hard, but at least i could do it, though I didn't use my left arm much (though it's sore afterwards.... and the injury is really in the chest, no real problem with the arm).
