Intent was to drive to schooll, meet with cvnp about o access in pm, then o train after that. B ut, 3" fresh and more falling at 6am, and more by 9, when the meeting was cancelled. That freed me up to do my part on REU interviews, which swalllowed the afternoon and prevented woods time. So, dashed out in a spare hour to check the campus map. Found quite a few important changes I had guessed but not confirmed, so now have to put them into the ocad.

towpath in, market back. meltwater froze overnight, then light dusting of snow everywhere, so there were unexpected and unnoticeable icepatches everywhere. Even with screwshoes, the parking lots and sidewalks and even part of the towpath were treacherous - perhaps 15 separate slides, all of which i surprisingly recovered from without falling. PM had no slides.

Natalie wanted to try snowboarding, so i grabbed my downhill skis and went with her to boston mills. She started off pretty well, but as she started falling a bit more (and getting a bit soreUnfortunately, she got very frustrated at her lack of control, and eventually let that get the better of her. I had to skate up the beginner hill (she walked) most times, pretty much gave up after a couple of hours, despite libations and snacks. I thought she did pretty well. I got in 3 runs, and was very rusty but still had a bit of fun. i had forgotten how uncomfortable downhill boots can be! 40F and sunnytoday, so almost overheated much of the time.4.5 hrs total.
