Went to Orthopedist (Dr. Bennett, crystal clinic) first thing today, and learned that i can't read xrays. I have a broken bone in my foot (Left metatarsal, proximal end, where ligament attaches). Good news is that these usually heal really well (and i haven't messed that up). Bad news is that i have 6 more weeks before a reexamination and possible return to running. I can walk, bike, etc as long as i don't impact (jump), or (especially) roll the ankle. Strength training and hiking is ok (given above). No crutches needed, but use a compression support on the ankle/foot. If i'd gone straight in after injury they'd have put me in a boot. He was quite unconcerned - pretty standard injury and recovery.

So, as soon as time presented itself i went to the gym to get out some of my pent up energy! I will try not to overdo it.

Back from NSF yesterday at midnight. To Dr. for a scheduled lipid evaluation (fine; first with Dr. Mark), and asked about my ankle (which now seems to be foot - outside of arch). She sent me for xrays (no obvious break to my eyes), and an orthopedist (Dr. Bennett, who i had before) for Tuesday (first available.). I had to do the circle plots, but that probably didn't help me.
At NSF i tried not to walk any more than necessary, but no crutches
