Easy ride in.
6wk checkup with orthopedist aboitu ankle. .told him no pain in last 10 d, but slow recovery before that. Didn't rrally diagnose much - examined to confirm no swelling, etc, but then repeated all the synovitis spiel on autopilot. Expanded some to emphasi2 that the cause is intrinsic looseness of ligaments exaggerated by all those sprains (even started off talking about this as my sprain). Says ankle locks i had are muscle spasms from stress.
Again, future options are to do nothing, ice/alleve/brace, or surgery to tighten ligaments. Encourages ztraining that doesnt bear weight
I am free to feel my way along. Don't do it if it hurts

I am getting very tired of resting, but i did not ride today, and only walked a little at the station. Did have a minor catch in ankle, like but less bad than yesterday

No lunges - used weight bench leg instead
This morning walked on edgewater beach with family, very nice. At west side market after sitting in car a little found that left ankle was 'caught', and had to gently move in different ways to stop the pinched feeling. Then fine.

Planned to ride to station but while walking dog felt some catching high on froont of ankle, so didn't. Did census, careful to walk slow. I am depressed about lack of healing

Very easy. One pretty bad ankle lock at desk- no prpoblems when on bike ( did forget AM alleve until 11). Or is it from leg posture at desk, or related to weights (lunges?)

Ball of foot slightly better but still sore. Ankle with a little discomfort late yesterday but none today.

Decided that discretion is the better part of valor, and instead of going out orienteering on a bad ankle and make it worse, i first went on a light trail hike with the family (overdue- finally they agreed (though they wouldn't do an o-walk at today's event)), and on a spin on the road bike (delayed when an unexpected cloudburst not only kept me off the road, but trapped me in the garage). 26kph avg. No obvious ankle problems while riding (or over the last few days, except for a few momentary pinches when bent too far). I will take it easy on the road back, and that means no running for a while, darnit.

LATER- walking (wearing tevas) the ball of my left foot started hurting again. Had no problem on a 2 mile hike this morning - perhaps those shoes?

Got to market st and realized my lunch was on the counter at home, went back
Ankle fine unless i bend it too far, which only happens on stairs or when kneeling but it might not like impact (havent tried). I will now try to ramp up biking, no running for now- i may have to do this for a month, i fear

Easy in on crosby and back on market. no ankle problems, but have to remember not to cross ankles at my desk or i get some discomfort. Bruise on top of foot is pretty much gone, but still feel discomfort on ball when i put any extra pressure on it.

Weights at hotel Gym in Ottawa.
Awoke to finally notice that there is a big bruise on the top (not bottom!) of my left foot, apparently the evidence of the injury yesterday. Much less painful today.
wanted to do cardio, but don't want to mess with ankle, which is used in all of that. No real ankle pain, but occasionaly I accidentally bent it too mcuh and could tell there is still a problem there.
Good day at the evolution meetings - saw and talked with lots of people

Walked dog barefoot this am (portag loop) and at return to park suddenly seriously sore (bruiselike) on ball of left foot. Sigh. Happened before (last fall?). Stayed sore most of day, despite ice on drive to airport.
Had planned to sneak a swim in between exam a driving to airport but one student arrived late for the exam and d i had pity on him.

Took it easy, no pain. Did bnp census. When feet got wet from damp grass the heat from icy hot ramped up. I see the pattern of that now

First try swimming at school- they had the lanes long-way so it was trial by fire. 2 x breaststroke, 1 back, some crawl. .earned that kicking stresses the ankle (not in breast stroke thoough). Because first day and ankle took it easy.
No real ankle pain outside that today.
The new icyhot kept burning most of the day, esp when sweaty feet in socks and with brace. Weird!
