Ran to shop in am to get bike (with waterpack, which worked really well to carry my niche book and gear and helmet). Then rode 5+ miles to school, rode home later (logged separately). Ran to school in evening for night class, then home (logged separately). Count AM as trail, to include the trail time in the commute run. Not too beat up after all this. Good to get some extra exercise time in.

Octagon/ledges 'hard' sprint. Had a couple of errors (1-2 minutes each), almost always due to either overrunning, or having trouble reading the cliffs (often was way above or below the flag and had to work my way in reach - not because I didn't read control descriptions, but because it's a complicated area). Drizzle became real rain half way through this, and I had trouble seeing the map. 5 minutes behind stan, and 2 more minutes behind a swiss fellow I didn't get to meet. Wonderful course (set and designed by Howard Montgomery)

The 'easy' course. Not so rainy, and much less technical navigation, so I did a much cleaner job, and pushed a little more at times. 2 minutes behind stan, 2 ahead of the swiss guy. I probably only lost a couple of minutes or less to errors, total

Busy today with house/yard work, and even when not busy, just not interested in exercising, despite the beautiful day. Eventually dragged myself out the door at 5PM, feeling stiff, slow, and old. Today, those didn't dissolve, and I felt tired most of the way.

Aimed for very high effort, 20-60 second bursts with 1-2minute recovery. This is the burst part.

+ 4 Lydiard uphills (highsteps) of about 30 sec each

Mix of general low intensity work at BNP. Census plots (ran between them), pull garlic mustard in rain, tote 40lb garlic mustard sacks 400m or more. Showers ==> downpour. Call it rogaine practice. 3 hr prorated
