Snow is only patchy now, and over 40F, so am gingerly returning to running. Neighborhood. Very slow and rusty, tiniest right knee muscle pain there so stayed well within myself. Nice to be out.
AM pulse weird - first reading was 55/88, and second was 46/95.

BNP during an extended thaw. Fortunately so far no refreezing, so its just slushy, and with surprisingly good glide where packed. Grandview, south and west of bath pond to ira parking, then returned, with some sidetrips. Felt pretty good

Szalays north to tunnel. Poor glide (using Trak skis while i glue up the oslos), even though i put on glide wax - actual balls of snow underneath. a little more snow this morning - we're about 6-8" now

Cascade chuckery loop. snowed 3" yesterday, with icy crust - stiff and rough trail so had to walk the steeper downhills Felt good on the flats.
Oslo 3 pin gear - lower surface of right ski's tip started delaminating, so i'll glue that later

Oak Hill on oslo 3 pin. still the thin hardpack everywhere, and here the roots were occasionally a problem, but still a good ski. Feeling stronger, fewer exhaustion bouts

Indian Mound (Botzum) to Ira and back. 10-12 minutes on the measured mile. Barely enough snow, but hard pack and good glide. Felt like my technique and strength are better.

Big bend, north, and south to boardwalk, and across river. Using old 3pin gear (boots too tight, but not bad, oslo skis felt good but clearly a bit wider). Good glide and thought my technique might be better today. about 1" fresh, but packed. Again, we have maybe a 3" base, but on the towpath it's packed hard, so i'm going to keep going here until we get more.

BNP. Still the very thin but hardpacked/icy roads like elsewhere. Decent glide. no knee problems. After skiing i went to brush off the snow before putting them in the car and the suspect ski collapsed- broke in half at back end of binding. ALthough i had seen what i thought were weaknesses caused by two screws just outide here on the ski below the binding, now that i can see inside, there is only on screw, internal. Those were buckling edges instead. Not sure why this fisher superlight ski likes to do this, but it's the third time!. The remaining ski says 2013, but for some reason this one does not have a date on it.Ugh
NOTE: checked log, and it looks like the first break was in 2012, and the second in 2015, and that this is a mixed pair. So the broken one is from 2012, and only 2 pairs are involved.

Memorial south - two laps. Toward the south there has been more melting, so blacktop is sort of visible, so i didn't go all the way.

Memorial (tried to do overview but they plowed that). Went to mustill as far as i could (salted road to rosie tunnel). Again hardpacked tiretracks, good glide. Tried to double pole all i could but it just kills me! that southern lap too 18, so then went north a while.

Memorial on hardpack (tire tracks). Did as much double pole as i could (to avoid stressing knee). But man, i am just not able to do that - slow and exhausting, even on mild downhills. no knee problems.
AM HR erratic (36! is there a missing beat between them - sometimes felt that)
