Day 2 - Middle at the US Champs. Little Truckee Summit.

No big mistakes, just slow. The navigation wasn't too difficult, but I lost time in the rocks at the end. Too much hesitation.

I didn't notice any smoke at all; it was just hot.

US Nationals. Sprint at Sierra College.

This went as expected. I didn't have too much trouble with the navigation, although I hesitated in too many places. It was a weird feeling going through the start process (it was a premier setup!) and then starting. I had a rush of panic, like I didn't know what to do! Good thing you could see the first control from the start...I said just go to that control, and then muscle memory kicked in and it was fine.

Strength Training 30:00 [3]

Raked, shoveled, and moved 10 wheelbarrow-loads of rock to clear the new location for the shed. I think my biceps are going to hurt tomorrow.

One last trip to Laramie Range before next weekend. I went to Remarkable Flats and ran some of the training weekend course, backwards. I fumbled a few in the beginning and then got extra cautious, having to check everything on the map, which slowed me down. I did see a herd of about 20 elk around Control 20. I scared them into running away...there was one with a beautiful, large rack.

Afterwards, I went to the Lowe's in Cheyenne to get some pavers that no hardware store in Ft. Collins seemed to have. I'm having my shed moved this week, and the movers needed pavers to help with the leveling. For some reason, the shed is in the middle of the back 1/3 of the yard, wasting space on either side, so I'm going to move it closer to the fence. Then I'll have another area in the yard to do something with.

I knew I was going to wear a mask in the store (I was the only one in a mask and got a few looks), so I also wore my Kuwait t-shirt with a tan camel cartoon on it that Jill got me when she was deployed there, in hopes of trying to fit in just a little better.

Oh, and I forgot my Garmin watch. And there appears to be no way to export the info from an Apple watch to upload to Garmin. Boo!
