Ride race (MTB Orienteering) 2:55:40 [3] ** 25.97 km (6:46 / km) +550m 6:07 / km
spiked:9/9c shoes: Mountain Bike

Medium Course
CP1 - Started out ok but rookie error after getting to checkpoint as it was numbered 3 and at the last event i mispunched when the numbers ran in numerical order so then thought I may have taken track down to CP3 which didn't seem right but matched the number. Rode back down to main track and then back up to CP1 and punched, then realised the alpha's matched up to the map. Rode back up to CP 2 then back down the nice single track to CP 3. Decided to go on the main road to 4 but then had issue with the conveyor, managed to get across and rode up the hill, was unsure if I was at correct track junction so went up to top of hill where I saw the open ground so went back down the green trail and down to 4. Glad I took green trail to 5 as it wasn't that bad. Took Munda Biddi trail to 6, thought the trail was supposed to go back behind me more so rode up a little further then realised it must be it as the trail veered to the left so rode back up to 6. Decided to take southern route to 7, nasty hill on way back up but seems both ways were pretty similar. Took main track down to 8 and up around single track, back through single track to 9 and home. Put compass away half way around and was the best move I had made, just clutters map board and is annoying when it moves.
