Faffed around long enough when I got to Matilda bay for it to be getting light by the time I got on the water.

Very peaceful paddle, just had to keep clear of some rowers heading to the narrows. Slight head wind heading out.

Turned at Barrack St to a very nice view of the war memorial up in Kings Park being illuminated by a spotlight like ray of sunshine, with the full moon in the background and the flag flying in the foreground.

Slightly faster on the way back, but still couldn't get up to decent pace, did a couple of short hard efforts near the end and actually felt like I was going better then.

Dropped on Preston Pt Rd hill after coming off Canning Hwy. Stayed in contact with another guy who got dropped here. We were swallowed up by big group until they stopped(?) at Canning Bridge and I was then swallowed up by the Broad group, I jumped on the front whilst they were regrouping and then sat on the back after they came past, stayed with them until the narrows. By myself till just past Andre House when the black shirt/blue stripe guys came past, so I tried to hold on to them for a while, but eventually gave up and went to work.

Parked down at the oval so I could get away quick afterwards. Did the short warm up loop.

Session was 7 x 1km, couldn't remember exactly what my target pace was, I thought 3:58. Turns out it's 4:02. Odds up, evens down

Looks like I did better than I thought, except the 4:09's. I'm finding it hard to keep the speed up across the bottom side with the grass a bit uneven and it being dark and all.
