XPD prequel

Back starting to feel a bit better and got a physio appointment booked for the afternoon.

So just had to get through gear and proficiency checks, eventually realised I was running out of time to get down to the beach for the swim and paddle proficiency checks before my physio appt. Dave and I left Grant and John to do something and we jumped on our bikes and went flat out to the beach, with some minor nav issues along the way since we'd just ha a quick look at a map to find out where we were going before leaving.

Had a very quick paddle out, tip ourselves, find the water was barely waist deep, jump back on, paddle out a bit deeper, tip off again climb back on, paddle back in. Then a quick run out deep enough to swim, swim a bit out and back. Then about 2 minutes trying out the SUP before jumping on the bikes and smashing it to the physio, going a roundabout way to get there. Just got there on time, completely covered in sweat from the ride.

So this physio session turned out to be the most painful part of my XPD trip but it did get my back moving quite nicely. Good times.

Back still bad and couldn't find a physio open on a Sunday :(

Lots of Nurofen, fisiocreme and stretching and lots to do so not much time to rest, food shopping and lots of organising to do.

So it's the morning we're flying to Townsville. And just getting everything ready to load into the car and I lift one end of my gear tube to write my name on it an 'pop' there goes my back and possibly my XPD hopes and dreams.

Pretty painful flight to Brisbane, stuck sitting for hours. Had some time to stretch out and get dome work done on my back by our makeshift team masseuse Grant.

After waiting outside the airport for Dave, we all had some good times with airport security getting through with exactly the same stuff we'd gone straight through with in Perth.
