back to usual instructor - lots of reps with lighter weights
Caught up of my lack of sleep from the night before!

course setting in Fish Creek for tomorrow's Beyond the Basics - Aiming Off. Not too much rain while I was there but everything soaked and the creek is fast so kept courses away from banks. Also made a hand out.
Back to Calgary around midnight but as had a big coffee in Kamloops (cheapest gas in Canada at $1.06.4!) couldn't fall asleep. I think I heard every hour and half hour striking until 5am... When will I learn????
Raining today so won't get too much yard work done.

LOTS of hills. Robert caught me (running very well on his bionic knees) and dropped me after the long leg. However, i think we had the better route choice. Had had a sloppy control just prior to that - missed a boulder on a hill. toughest course I have run for a long time.
Won W45. Forgot to turn off Garmin for 6 minutes at the end.
probably only a total of about 10 minutes over the day...

orienteering competition race (Sage Sprint) 21:38*** 2.31 km (9:22 / km) +69m8:09 / km ahr:160 max:176 shoes: Ice Bugs
1:5000 map but not sprint standard. Found that I was over running controls. 2nd to Jane in W45. Lots of cacti and dead branches so had to be careful where you ran. Luckily I didn't fall into any. Couldn't find my O bag prior to the race so had to scrounge compass etc.

Found my O bag in the bottom of my pack... Faster TPK than in the spring - maybe I was getting into the map more. 1:10000 for this race. Fun race. Won W45.

Felt generally tired this morning but especially the legs - and maybe the brain as I switched off my Garmin instead of hitting the lap button at the end of my warm up walk. However calculated total time from start time, and adjusted. Was trying to stay in zone1 so was looking at the watch a lot but was 2/3rds around before noticing that the total time was only 5 minutes.
Rain overnight and a blustery somewhat wet day - kind of nice!
