XC Ski - Skate warm up/down 26:50 intensity: (50 @0) + (3:02 @1) + (9:36 @2) + (10:51 @3) + (2:31 @4) 5.08 km (5:17 / km) +94m 4:50 / km

Warm up - thought I'd come over earlier in the day and do the time trails while it was still hard and fast. Hadn't counted on running out of steam.
Just above freezing, trails in pretty good shape, but a few sectinos where it was pretty icy.

XC Ski - Skate race 22:23 intensity: (9 @2) + (12:50 @3) + (9:24 @4) 5.69 km (3:56 / km) +79m 3:41 / km

Skate time trail. First lap was ok - 10:45. Not a lot of energy on the uphills, but was working them as best I could.
Second lap - 11:38 - just ran out of mental and physical energy - dogged the hills.
Feeling unsteady. Decided somewhere on the 2d lap that it would not be a good idea to do the classic time trial.

Not congested, but just not breathing well. Will attribute it to my cold, too long since I've done anything physical, and packing a few too many extra pounds.

Note
(sick)

Nose starting to run like a faucet. Not a lot of congestion (yet) or any coughing.

Pretty cold out with a good breeze, so the thought of high speed on skis wasn't appealing.
Opted for a hike up the west side of Gunstock, then run over towards Belknap.
Didn't get started until late in the day, so not a lot of time. Hardpack and glare is on the way up - glad I had on my Icebugs, but very low teens makes for very hard ice. A bit dicey in places, but no hard falls.
Chilly heading off the S side of Gunstock twards Belknap - decided to take the Blue trail down to the Carriage, rather than up and over the summit.
Saw 2 people and their dog coming down as I was going up. Not a lot of folks out skiing today up top.

XC Ski - Skate 57:50 intensity: (46 @0) + (30 @1) + (6:18 @2) + (44:27 @3) + (5:49 @4) 12.56 km (4:36 / km) +173m 4:18 / km

Mid-morning ski at Gunstock - a few folks around, including a contingent from CSU.
Had hoped they have a few more sections opened, but Paul mentioned something about something broken on the manure spreader - some sections almost done, but not quite.
Ended up doing 4 laps on the race loop - last one in reverse, but was going up the Crossbow hill as some folks were coming down. Sara was at the other end, asking people (me) to stay with the flow on Crossbow.
Skiis felt a bit slow - probably a combination of warmer conditions and a bit of grit in several sections.

Run 37:29 intensity: (50 @0) + (20 @1) + (3:14 @2) + (24:03 @3) + (9:02 @4) 5.5 km (6:49 / km) +29m 6:38 / km

Trail run at Ahern - hadn't been there for a while.
Looks like the Garmin didn't get lock until about 1/2 into the run - hmmm.
Not a lot of energy - but glad to get out and get my heart pumping a bit
Glad I had on my Icebugs - mostly granular snow on top of ice, and occasionally just ice.
