Yeah, so I should have skipped 9. But I would have got tired anyway. By far the longest I have run (and run was a bit of a stretch on some legs) in ages.

So fun, though. Thanks to Rochester folks for a great event. Two days of really lovely woods.

So, number one was terrible. My brain was still in sprint (1:5,000) mode, I had a plan but it was not a good one, I didn't see a large flat area before the control as I rushed (and it had stuff in it). I'd like to blame eyesight, but that wasn't really the problem. When I got confused I refused to realize that I hadn't gone anywhere near far enough (not transitioning from 1:5000). Finally my brain clicked in, I figured it out, and got myself WAY further down the slope to where the control was (and finally actually noticed the flat area on the map).

At #1 I said, "That's okay, now clean for the rest of it." And I was. And the woods were lovely.

Forgot to stop the Garmin again! Ah well. Mostly okay, but one whoops in a circle ... turns out I went to the right spot, but it was placed in a different spot (course setter confirmed), which made me feel better. I didn't recover from it particularly quickly though.
Physically didn't push hard - saving myself for the weekend!
