Trail run 5:00 [2] 1.0 km (5:00 / km)

Very brief warmup before the race.

Orienteering race 1:18:34 [4] *** 9.7 km (8:06 / km) +340m 6:54 / km

Red-X long course at SML Champs at Middlesex Fells, Boston. Absolutely nice day for a race! My type of course with lots of trail ranning but tricky in places. This year is not mine as made (again) tons of small and not so small mistakes and hesitations.

Mistakes:
#3 0:30 for hesitating too much before coming to solid attackpoint n the trail above.
#7 0:30 for misreading map and overrunning the control.
#9 2:00 for being absolutely blind and not seeing control from 5m. Made a big loop to gain confidence.
#10 0:30 for overshooting right on bearing.
#15 0:15 for overshooting left on bearing and hitting wrong hill.
#16 0:30 for over-running the right trail junction and continuing to big clearing.
#22 1:30 for loosing contact with small zigzagging trail and taking big fall down the slope. Needed about one minute to get myself back to the race. Most of my blood this day came due to the fall.
#24 1:00 for loosing contact with map on small trails.

Overall loss is about 6:45 for a good time 1:12 which would be appropriate for this course.

All 3 days at CSU land offered 3 different flavors terrain and 3 very different and interesting course designs. CSU events definitely will be high in my list of events to attend! Thanks a lot for very enjoyable long weekend! If only we may be better in our orienteering :)
