Running race (Raid the Hammer) 3:35:00 [4] 30.0 km (7:10 / km) +1050m 6:06 / km
shoes: Salomon S-Lab2 XT Wings2

RtH with Phatty and Goose. Felt good for the first 2 hours but then the hills got me for the last 90mins or so which I figured might happen due to my lack of any >2hr training sessions in months (it's the fall, shut it down time). I screwed up one of the matrix posts (G) but luckily the 10min penalty added to our time didn't affect our placing. Phats, Goose and I all took navigation leads, while Goose towed Phatty and I near the late stages of the race. Goose was a freakin machine on the hills. Other than a few half raid teams near the end, we only saw Coalition and JayXC's team throughout the race, the latter of which kept us on our toes until they dropped us after CP14. Navigationally we had a good race (other than my matrix screwup), hit all CP's pretty bang on, but maybe some of our route choices weren't the best especially near the end (perhaps because we only plotted until CP14 before rushing the last bunch). From 14-15 (road) perhaps wasn't a good idea and from 16-F was double the time of most of our competitors (23mins versus 12)??? (edit: figured out that included our 10 min penalty duh). I think we took too many hill routes, versus staying in rivers, etc. Ended up 5th overall in a tough field. As always, RtH put on an excellent race, nice host site, good food and great volunteers

Distance and altitude scalped from JayXC (although I am sure we did more than 600m of climbing!).

Took Sara on her first chariot ride on the Caledon railtrail from Terra Cotta to Inglewood and back. Took it about as slow as I could. Afterwards mocha and snacks at The Shed. Bash - did you know they are closing permanently Dec 1??!?!? That sucks!!

At the new pool. Nearly EMPTY. A nice lane to myself with empty ones beside me. SWEET!!! I hope it stays like this, although I will miss the characters that swim in the cattle pool of MLS. Afterward family pool time with little Sara who had her first "swim" and did great (read: didn't cry).

Running intervals (Road) 46:11 intensity: (12:11 @2) + (17:00 @3) + (17:00 @4) 10.7 km (4:19 / km) +78m 4:10 / km

"Light" intervals. Didn't redline on the intervals, more of a tempo for increased effort. It is taper time after all!
