Orienteering - Bush (NOY1 Mourundah) 1:36:57 [3] 5.38 km (18:01 / km)
shoes: Salomons June 2014

Tiring course, with lots of hills, on a very small map.
Lots of rock which I failed miserably to read.
Numerous times where I had no clear indication of where I was.
Didn't stay for a second run.
Apart from DK, whose property it was on, I would of been the shortest drive home as live only 5 minutes down the road.

#01 No problems

#02 No problems. Followed track up north and then rocky ground into valley

#03 No problems. Passed #13 on the way through and remembered it for future reference!

#04 Ended up way to low as hit the rock fall near the Number 14 and was driven south getting around it. There was control #186 (not on my course) at the end of this rock wall. I realised what had happened so looked for #5 first but still ended up at #4 anyway.

#05 Slight search and more time loss.

#06 Set a bearing from #05 but pulled up about 20 m short. Came back to control #186 and discussed with other competitor and then set a south bearing. This time persevered long enough to see it out in the open.

#07 Three, or four of us, now together so no problem

#08 Three of us together, so no problem

#09 No problem but splits say there was a time loss here?

#10 Navigation was simple as it was get to the start again and then go behind the veggie patch. Time lost battling west through the green to get to the road!

#11 Didn't like the look of this at all as lots of chance for stumbling through the thick green. Elected to go up the road to the three circles, and then come in from the east side. Found right rocky area but was about 8 m south so was saved by another competitor.

#12 No problems - round the loop again.

#13 No problems - been here before

#14 No problems - Thomas Whitehead and I almost tied together from here onwards

#15 Three of us looking for this. I had gone back to #6 and then set a bearing down SW. But was too low on the next rockshelf down before I worked it out.

#16 Three of us. No problems.

#17 Three of us. The other two went too low to the west whilst I looked around on the correct rock shelf but more time lost.

#18 Elected the conservative route. Back to road and then follow the watercourse upward. Thomas did a more direct option and overtook.

#19 No problems

#20 No problems - lots of other competitors around control to lure me in

#21 Back to road, to bend, and then down south. My description of finding control basically as per tinytoes. Is that #11 again? Nope its #21. Bingo.

#22 No problems.

Other - Slave Labouring 9:00:00 [2]

7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Continuing at twin brothers replacing his wooden deck.
Only laid 27 boards.
From Miscellaneous

End result looking very neat with no nails but very fiddly and time consuming.
Back and shoulders very sore after a day stooped over.
Much easier with 2 people but still have at least 5 single days worth of work to go.
