Nice morning ride, sunny, mid 40's. Commute route Weigold to Folly only to find Folly now paved. Back via Goose Ln, High School, Charter, Cook & home. Leg fine while riding. Toes bothered me once stopped - jammed in shoes? or perhaps just cold?

Rode up to Soapstone & back w/ Hayden. Cycling doesn't bother the leg at all. Up Webster and dirt road up back of mountain including some singletrack, but had to walk the last bit to tower due to technical and slick tire spinning out. Great day for a ride. Perhaps another one solo later...

R leg having difficulty bearing weight. Doesn't feel muscular. May need to get checked for possible stress fracture. Crap... Billygoat seems an unwise venture at this time..

{update} diagnosis from the urgent care doctor is medial tibial fasciaitis - no running for a while, RICE and then gradual resumption of running on soft surfaces when leg feels better. Probably too much road running this winter even though I kept the volume down predisposed me to trashing it last night.

Up to Forest Park for Everett Barney Day. Good race, well paced, good for 2nd when Carlos Rivera backed off on the final corner to let me have 2nd behind Strider Dave Merkt. Felt great on the run but as soon as I stopped, my R leg very weak and achy. Not a good sign. Maybe an easy bike spin tomorrow, then evaluate things for Sunday.

Not sure if the track workouts agree with me. They feel fine when doing them, but then my legs are trashed for a few days following. Three non-running rest days and todays easy run wasn't really feeling it. Both legs achy in an odd sort of way - not simple fatigue, not sharp pain such as from acute trauma, but lower legs in particular just kind of twingy (is that a word?). And a couple of times my right leg just kind of 'gave way' when landing, like the muscles weren't ready to take the impact - didn't fall, but quite un-nerving... No scouts next week, so no track workout planned.

Up to Nashua w/ Jackson to get an O fix. Cooler than expected plus a brief period of rain/sleet part way around. A little ice in a couple spots, but ORocs made them a non-issue. Felt like I should have been faster, but happy enough...

Need to retrain the eyes for map reading with single contact, had to slow way down to read map, especially on the first half, and the map really wasn't that hard to read...

A couple minutes ahead of JimA, probably a lot of minutes behind DD. Alar also still out when we left.

With Bruce, Mark & Scottyboy... Trails in good condition, ran the southern part of the half course in reverse - stream bed sucks even worse going upstream. Did a bit of terrain running to connect with a mountain bike trail to get Scott back to car at 75 minutes. I elected to stop there as well rather than push another 45 minutes.

It occurred to us on the run that this is the first time this year that we've been able to run on dirt with no snow or ice to deal with. Very nice...
