Note

Over the past couple of years a number of people I've known (family, friends, colleagues) have been diagnosed with Cancer. Some have won the battle, some have lost and others continue to fight it.

This year I'm going to ride the Pan Mass Challenge - a fund raising bike ride. What sets this ride apart from other fund raisers is the fact that it is the largest athletic charity event in existence - more than 26 million raised last year - and also one of the most efficient with 99% of funds going to the charity - in this case the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

I've committed to the ride and fund raising for this years 192 mile ride to Provincetown. If your life and the lives of those around you has been affected by cancer, won't you please consider a supporting my ride with an e-Gift to the Dana Farber Institute? Online gift giving is quick and easy and allows the greatest amount of money to flow through to the charity. My rider ID# is CM0205.

On behalf of all those affected by Cancer, I thank you for your support...

Bike - Recumbent (Cervens - RT30) 30:00 [3] 10.75 km (2:47 / km) +160m 2:36 / km
weight:76.7kg shoes: Slipstream

Another after work ride - different route. Dirt road was fine, except the put down a lot of new, loose gravel which was annoying so I opted for a different road route home. Definitely using some different muscles but the overall effort going up some familiar hills didn't seem much different than the C-dale, though I'm sure I was moving slower.

Note

January - pretty pathetic month with about 12 hours. But that's to be expected. My biggest activity was easy running w/ Jackson at around 10 miles - but that's certainly not a bad thing.

February will likely be more of the same hit or miss but I'd like to try to get out more often. Plan to resume commuting by bike on March 1st which will also kick off official training for PMC. Probably won't get much regular orienteering in this spring, but will try to get as many sprints in as schedule allows. Also get the Crandalls map done for a meet in early June.
