Note
Minor muscle soreness today. Too much work to do so skipped run (and lunch too for that matter).
Need to figure out something for running in rain/wet weather.
First problem: when glasses fog, I get distracted trying to make sure my footing is good and trying to make out features in terrain. Less concentration on actual navigation. Still running fast so I drift and get messed up really badly, really fast.
Second problem: once totally out of contact, can't see enough terrain to relocate properly - becomes a total guessing game - "I think I might be here" - sometimes I'm right, but more often not and get even deeper into trouble.
Solution: If I shift into a 'blind' mode before booming a control, I can have a clean run - but not terribly fast as I need to run slow enough to be sure of not face planting, and also stop/go to pick out next feature 25-30m out to run to on a direct line.
Need to check into contacts just for running. If anyone else actually happens to read this and has any contact lense advice, feel free to drop me a note.
