OCIN red course at Western; course set by Mike. Nice course, with some in-and-out of the woods, several times. I massively botched the shortest leg on the course (5-6), which was only about 50 meters. My time for this leg was longer than my time for the longest leg of the course (9-10), which was probably about 1.2 km. Nice. All the rest of my mistakes were relatively small, although I probably made a few suboptimal route choices.

In early January, 2009, when all the hard-core OCIN runners were off at the GNC, Bill Swift set some nice courses at Hueston Woods. I re-ran his red course this morning. Nice time; much faster than when I first ran it, and my legs were not cut-up as much. But the 2 foot tall saplings take their toll, and scratched up my legs more than I would have predicted from looking at the map.

Quick run out at MUNA -- a run that would have never happened normally, without that "oh crap. . .we're now registered for the rogaining championship and I'm horribly out of shape" feeling.
