A great day to be out, and a very fun red course at Mitchell. By far my biggest mistake was a pretty stupid parallel error on the way to #5. I also got unlucky at #13, and spent too long roaming the area. Several other controls were somewhat sloppy, but not seriously bad for me. For as green as the map is, the course was relatively clear (though I'm sure not all would agree.) Maybe I just found a few lucky game trails, but the legs to 3 and 4 were much clearer for me than expected.

A very nice event at Possum Creek, with weather much better than it was last year for this meet. It's a tough park to set courses because of all of the green, but Tom did a pretty nice job throwing in some good challenges and route choices. Also had a nice mix of long and short legs.

My time is approximated, and doesn't include the 40 minutes I spent looking for my SI stick. I figured that I dropped it coming out of the stream crossing between 7 and 8, and spent at least 10 minutes in the water looking. (Spent a lot of time wondering whether SI cards float) I slowly and carefully retraced my steps from 7 to the stream 4 times. Literally moments before I would have called-off the search, I found it in a patch of honeysuckle, about 40 meters away from control 7. Glad I found it.

The rest of the course was pretty good. I think I was at or near 10min/k.
