Orienteering 1:16:27 [4] *** 8.43 km (9:04 / km) +230m 7:59 / km
spiked:15/17c

Red course at Tourne, HVO local meet. Nice course for the small map. Slept only four hours, am not very awake. Have still good legs, at least in the beginning. Towards the end I get tired and I rush the navigation to #14, also mistake a wall for a trail and drift around a little bit to where I don't want to go. Around the control is is very green and more rocks appears. Hit the control anyway, but only after slow down. Rush the last control, don't know if there is a fence around out of bond (yes, there is, now I know).
Good course, fun run, I only I had more energy on the trails.

Relax warm up/down 20:00 [1]

I am stiff and exhausted, so I take time to relax as much as I can, especially my head and upper back. Now I am realigned. I want to sleep early today, spent half of the last night on the ONA article about the Surebridge Challenge.

Running 38:00 [3] 7.5 km (5:04 / km) +50m 4:54 / km

Easy run. I am tired from not sleeping much and should still work on the ONA article. Warm and humid. It appears my running energy during summer weather is really down. Most summers I don't have much energy to run, the fall, winter and spring is much better.

Relax warm up/down 10:00 [1]

A little race tune up. See what I can do to get in local meet shape. Which usually means not too serious build-up, just see what can be done. E.g. before an A-meet I would see that I sleep enough. Now, well, don't know. Need to finish article for ONA first.

Running 56:00 [3] 10.1 km (5:33 / km) +70m 5:22 / km

No exotic animals or weird red tinted rivers to discover. But the water in the Hudson is indeed much more fluid in the summer. Also, the moon is out and still very round and healthy.

Relax warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Pay attention to deep breathing during the stretching and warm down. It helps to relax much better.

Surebridge Rocks 1:25:33 [3] 9.0 km (9:30 / km) +400m 7:47 / km

Map run in Surebridge. Retrieve the police tape which was still guarding the hell hole. Run back with a big bulge under my shirt, very pregnant. I am attacked by a million of mosquitoes when I remove the tape. Along Surebridge Mine Road it is ok, as long as I move. I stop to get the camera out. I am surrounded by a hungry black cloud. My way out is a quick run up the steep hill, not reading the map, only escaping the trillion of attackers. I survived, several flying blood bags were unceremoniously squashed to Raspberry jam.

Relax warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Relaxion of the mosquito speed bumps. Actually there are almost no bumps, don't know why. Maybe the blood flow while running flushes the poison out right away.
Nice cool wind now and the blue moon smiles up there. Blue moons have more of a face and personality, I learned yesterday.

Running 1:02:34 [3] 11.8 km (5:18 / km) +90m 5:06 / km

Island run with 4 x 3 min. tempo, more or less fast. It is warm and the water is very soft, gentle and blue. Looks as if it were fun to swim.

Relax warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Easy relaxing stuff, the usual. Need it less in the summer, since running is more relaxed anyway. Maybe I invent a new summer program.

Running 1:15:02 [3] 10.6 km (7:05 / km) +400m 5:57 / km

Run up Mt. Beacon during the sunset. Glowing floating warm orange spots of sunlight on boulders and cliffs. Great view from the casino over the Hudson River, the water all silver and the sky deep strawberry mango volcano burn red.

Relax warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Stretching and breathing outside, the rest inside away from kamikaze mosquitoes and other flying skin drills.

Running 58:22 [3] 11.8 km (4:57 / km) +90m 4:46 / km

Running with cool moon and soft warm river water licking on the Denning's island shore. 4 x tempo run and a fast mile on the way back.

Relax warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Stretching the gardening and the running out until I have some balance. Not too much, as it seems. Fall asleep and forget about cooking until two hours later. A parental energy black-out.
