Andrei set a Score-O for the Juniors, which was brilliant... he went over their courses before they started out and they all scattered in different directions, with strategies. Score-O had 10 controls on about 7 different feature types so they could learn that, and was a mix of on/near trail and on big features. Steep ravines.
One of the kids was awe-struck for two minutes (he claims) because he ran into an albino deer and just watched it. SO lucky!
(Ok, and yeah... I know that's probably not a white-tail deer but the pics with white-tail albino deer were mostly dead hunter bragging pics. This one was just cuter)
The juniors definitely getting better; more confident, planning routes, paying attention to vegetation changes, etc. They all ran alone today (Ty, Drew, Thomas, Ben and Lucy... several had to miss due to other commitments). And all want to do another Score O next week.
I ran the course too; started out well behind everyone so I wouldn't mess up their fun. And a little bit of control retrieval (through the area with the
unicorn albino deer).
Anyone who wants to join in the fun can get more details on the
meetup group.
