Hiking (some running) 2:47:00 [3] 9.02 mi (18:31 / mi) +1500ft 16:00 / mi

Decided to try a longish trail loop starting from Richmond Road in Lenox. Climbed first to Monk's Pond and then went south up to Olivia's Outlook. From there I did an out-and-back along the Charcoal Trail. Once back to Olivia's Outlook, I went north on the Burbank Trail before peeling off that to the right ad dropping down to Old Baldhead Trail, which took me to, surprise, Baldhead, a small peak that the bike trails like to traverese.

From Baldhead the trails lead back to my car.

An interesting aside: I sprayed a few pairs of socks recently with Permethrin, after I had picked up a couple of ticks while out running on trails one day. The Permethrin was leftover from my AT hike, so why not use it?

Today, I ran in one of the pairs that I had sprayed. Once home, I was pulling off my socks/shoes, etc., and noticed that there was a bit of duff on my socks, so I went outside to back them agains the railing. Most of the duff came off, but there were a few spots that didn't. Closer examination revealed that there were five dead, or dying, ticks on one sock!

So that Permethrin works very well. LOL

Walking 19:14 [3] 1.07 mi (17:59 / mi) +90ft 16:39 / mi

Walk with Colette on the condo grounds. Rains stopped just long enough to get a mile in.

Walking 19:12 [3] 1.06 mi (18:07 / mi) +90ft 16:46 / mi

Another walk on the condo grounds. Colette was out shopping.

Walking 1:22:13 [3] 5.02 mi (16:23 / mi) +275ft 15:34 / mi

Walk with Colette out past Woods Pond and back to the condo. Colette is using a 10# vest when she hikes; she very nicely let me try it for the last half-mile of our walk. I'm not excited to use it again.

Hiking 2:15:52 [3] 6.05 mi (22:27 / mi) +925ft 19:37 / mi

Hike with Colette on the mountain bike trails south of Reservoir Road in Lenox. Trails are in great condition at this time of the year--still soft, but not wet anymore.

Hiking 2:00:44 [3] 5.4 mi (22:22 / mi) +750ft 19:46 / mi

Hiking in the Pittsfield Watershed north of New Lenox Road on the twisty bike trails. It's been a while since I've been up there and it appears that the trail network has changed a little. I stayed on the bike trails for most of the hike, but after a while I noticed that I was heading north a bit too much, so I turned around and bushwhacked in a southernly direction--bumping into some of the trails that I had been on earlier. My bushwhacking, rough as it was, brought me right back to my car! Yes, I was surprised to see it, to be honest.

Walking 50:42 [3] 3.06 mi (16:34 / mi) +213ft 15:33 / mi

Walk with Colette out to the black cows and back, followed by a mile on the condo grounds. Colette was wearing a 10# weighted vest, while I just had sore legs. ;-)

Hiking (some running) 57:27 [3] 3.85 mi (14:55 / mi) +375ft 13:40 / mi

Clockwise loop from the water tower in the southern end of Kennedy Park. It was going to just be a hike, but as the wind picked up and the rain started to fall, that provided a bit of motivation to do some easy running. Got back to the car slightly wet, but not soaked.
