Swimming race 12:35 [3] 0.5 km (25:10 / km)
Panorama Sprint Distance Tri.
My first official race. Had great weather this morning. Beautiful sunny weather with just a hint of cloud cover to keep the temperature down and no wind. It's 20 degrees or so now at 2:30 in the afternoon.
I was in the second wave starting at 8 am. My goal for this leg was to swim front crawl the whole way. Check, although I was the second slowest in the wave and I think I'm about the 7th or 8th slowest in the entire race of 120.
My swim time racing is the same as my swim time in training. Just trying to get through the distance.

Riding race 59:51 [5] 30.0 km (2:00 / km)
Bike and run times include transition. Got out a little slowly to the bike as I chose to wear socks and had some trouble getting them on wet feet. The bike course is rolling with no major climbs but never really flat. Had a real solid first lap, probably a bit excited. Lots of passing since I was pretty much last out of the pool. Kept me motivated. Goal was sub 1 hour for the bike leg. Check (including transition time).
Almost got penalized for drafting by a marshall standing on the side of the road when I'm being passed in a 90 degree corner. What's up with that? How about a little situational awareness?

Running race 37:17 [5] 8.0 km (4:40 / km)
shoes: Asics 2150 Red
Run leg went pretty well. It's and out and back. You start out up hill immediately before a couple of good downhills. Middle of the run is flat and then it's back up the little kickers to a downhill finish. Legs came around pretty well. No run fitness so happy to run around half marathon pace today. Wanted to run sub 5:00/km and not get passed. Check.

Overall pretty happy with the race. Was hoping for sub 2 hours and come in just under 1:50. Finished 30th out of 120 and was still 5th in my age division.
Pretty happy with my first foray into triathlon.
