While I've never done a Billygoat I didn't know what goat-style meant but this was really fun! Nice terrain, awesome map and a fun course.
Started with messing up the start, punched what I realized later was the last control on the course. This meant that when I got to the real start my e-punch wouldn't beep (not because my SI-card was covered with blood pudding which was Jim's explanation), stood around for a while thought I needed to go back and clear again but started running to 1st. Did a mistake leaving the second control by reading to number 4 which meant I probably climbed some extra and I ended up very off. By number 7 I ran out on the tip of the spur and was standing there for a while before I realized it wasn't the dot knoll I was standing on. Leaving 7 I was drawn to the lake - it was beautiful - but it made me climb over a few hills and go through green, also was to high before I saw number 8. Leaving 8 I crossed the trail without noticing, lost height and had to go back up again. Don't think the big trail from 15 to 16 was a good choice, judging by how it was to run on. Controls 16-20 I felt like I was hesitating as I was pretty close to the controls. Kat caught me a couple of times when I messed up while she was going clean in a steady pace.
Used the thumb compass again, still getting used to it, using the colors and everything. I think I'm having a better contact with the map using it.
Felt a bit sore from yesterday's massage. Didn't twist or even wobble my ankles today, pretty amazing when it was this rocky & slippery. Used the ankle thingy I borrowed from mum on the worst foot and taped the other one.
