Got out for a short ride in between the raindrops, with the plan being not to get too far from home. Started raining after about 15 minutes and there was no motivation to do anything other than head home.

Orienteering at Willard Brook SF.
Lots of ups and downs for the day, and that's not including any that were related to elevation.
Up #1 -- Had about an hour before my start, saw quite a few old friends, very pleasant.
Down #1 -- My orienteering. Pretty sad. Set off at a somewhat brisk walk, best I can do these days, leg still complaining all the time. Found the first four with no problem (other than dealing with the mountain laurel on the approach to #4, memories of how much I dislike the stuff). Brain couldn't handle the orienteering to #5, sad to say. Wandered around for a bit, nothing made sense. Asked myself if I was having fun. Answer clearly was in the negative, so it took no time at all to decide to head in. Had a nice enough walk back, leg is OK at an easy pace.
Up #2 -- Some more socializing.
Down #2 -- Another total brain failure, similar to my orienteering at #5 in its extent (ie. just totally unable to process the information at hand), though quite different in the details. Sparing those details, it took about 45 minutes to find my car key (which was located behind the right front tire). The process, as with my orienteering, was not pretty.
Up #3 -- Got back to Sunderland, happened to see a friend who's also involved in town stuff, spent half an hour chatting, couldn't have been more pleasant. Managed to take away most (but not quite all) of the sour taste from downs 1 and 2. Still wondering where my brain has gone.

Lower loop on the Who Knew trail. Just walking, tolerable. But whether doing it for 90 minutes (for 3 km in and out of mountain laurel) is tolerable is another matter.
