This is a direct cut and paste from blair's entry from yesterday - him in WA me on East Coast. I decided... why reinvent the wheel?
an area relatively close to the city which had less than rave reviews from the locals. It's steep; a lot of it is open or semi-open, but there's a lot of small rocks and even on the downhill bits there wasn't much opportunity to stretch out. Definitely felt like I was managing rather than racing - although I did manage to run most of the (big climb) to *what was not my #1*

Event (Sl - Sugarloaf) 51:12 [3] shoes: new black O
Ho Hum started badly being very high and very accurately counted w/cs but far too high and so missed the actual control. I had no other idea than to retrace steps. Saw PO and he was fuzzy too - found his control which wasn't mine. But then worked out where I was. A bit tentative to #2 then got really into it and did quite a few fast and good legs but then after a spike got confused by the map saying a track when it was clearly a tarred path - should have realised from landform and know that council have been active. A couple of minutes down - but should have been maybe 15 mins better. Can't complain as I've got no bush fitness and no bush nous currently.Splits are unsettling - fastest on 7/10 legs and pretty much stone motherless last on the others. Just shows how rusty I am.
Tomorrow is another day then the end of the bush season for me!

Note
Splits say I lost 17 mins - i'd estimated 15 which I think is about right.
gym class (Cross Trainer) 1:00:00 [4] shoes: grey/white
this was meant to be a Cross Trainer but was very much a Body Sculpt with oomph so i was very happy with that. The leg loosener runs I did really well at - very surprised - all 4 completed without a problem. Jaimie Lee is really good - can't quite understand the reticence on the part of others about her classes.
Control placing for Swansea HS Yr 9 Gala Day. Usually more sedate but I was 15 mins late starting as getting petrol was a high priority. Never had such a wildly enthusiastic group of excited Yr9 kids. A bit chatty when i would have preferred them not to be but their competitiveness was outstanding. First bust-up I've had on the course however - 1 girl ditched her partner because she was too slow on the Scatter teams course - pushed her into a ditch - really! Now how does this work??
