Event (Blue Gum Hills NOY) 1:27:38 [3] 4.3 km (20:23 / km)
(sick)

Still a bit wobbly so wasn't going to press today. We didn't get there early enough to get to see people and fiddle on and have enough time to do the Medium, and to some extent I probably shouldn't have chosen it anyway as it was over 5km. Looked at the Moderate Hard course and steered clear - so opted for Short Hard. (discovered later - as in on way to #1 - that rockman had chosen it too so I felt a bit better that I didn't totally wimp out.)
No problems navigationally and didn't deteriorate much over the course of the morning. Not as tough going up hills than I'd expected, or Malcolm has promised.
First drift was 9-10 and so landed on track and noticed rockman heading towards the 4 string barbed wire fence so i went about 150 up to help him with that. I then foolishly berated myself about being so far off line, forgetting I'd actually gone somewhere else!!! Back to 10 and OK 11 but another drift to right (both were), but relocated from small track to pick up last control and then to Finish.
Absolutely beautiful day out and forest was quite nice. Bit of chit chat afterwards then to next task.

gym class (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]

Some reminders of yesterday's class - but good to try to iron them out. Talking to others from yesterday's class - similar after effects - interesting. Must be the combinations and the limited time for recovery ie nil.

gym class (Cross Fit Training) 1:00:00 [5]

Last class with Cory before she leaves for 3 weeks in Africa focussing on Comrades Run and charity work. I'll need all those weeks to recover from today.
A pyramid of pyramids - (20-10) cardio first then medium length run; upper body (10-2) then longer run; upper body again (2-10) very long run.

Core and warm down.

Gah!

Update: 2 hours after class - my legs are dead and I think my body is following quickly.
Update on update: early evening felt like I was getting the flu - every joint ached - but I know I'm not. I have never had this reaction to a class before - only similar feeling was my last City2Surf.
