Event (NOY 1 ) 1:06:32 [3] 3.9 km (17:04 / km)

A very good start to the season. Got to event early expecting quite a few new people and also expecting quite a few visitors from Sydney due to their event being cancelled. Took one new couple through the paces and packed them off so I'd done 1km before I'd event started. Nice walk to the Start though.
Sam did a very good job for her first NOY. Good straight forward course with both micro and macro route choices. Didn't have any problems with nav but couldn't find much incentive to run. Ended up about mid field but really was just focussing on nav. Nice surprise to see Mick K back - hope he makes it a regular thing. Nice chat afterwards while I thought I was waiting for rockman who took to the bush for his first adventure. Needless to say he was pooped but his comment was that the Easy course wasn't easy and was a good course - probably with a bit of excitement.
Edit: thanks quirkey for splits. Now just checking my slow legs (just the red highlighted ones) I've discovered the reason for the horrendous time on Leg 2 - d'oh missed the obvious route and did the other sides of the triangle - silly silly! To others mostly just because I was walking.

gym replacement activity 2:00:00 [3]

Spur of the minute thing expecting rain on and off for the week - to be expected as we are having outdoor work done. Sections were pretty tough but pleased to see things a bit tidier.
Back a bit sore tonight - will need to stretch.

Park Run 34:54 [4] 5.03 km (6:56 / km)

The epic fail for the week continues! Great conditions, weather quite cool. Felt quite good for the first 250m, but just as leepback went past me I felt really sick - not the usual controllable sort. so for the first time in months I walked a bit in the first bit. and today i seemed very reluctant to push through - being too kind and giving in. Legs felt a bit weird too - for them anyway.

Eliz - 7:34 - a bit surprised given the errant behaviour. Tried to lengthen stride and succeeded mostly.
Cone - 17:06 - WOW that's about 20sec ahead of previous benchmark. Didn't recognise how good this time actually was for me and thought very negative thoughts so just plodded along.
Eliz -27:15 - still far too much walking and negative thoughts - just finish and beat myself up!.
Finish - 34:54 - at least under 35 - just. Pretty pathetic.
Only saving grace was the lengthening of stride for much of distance.
Nice talk afterwards with Peels, Wooter MessEng, Bob, Warren H and Bridget.
Position wasn't too bad, but I've no control over that - grasping at straws here.

gym class (Body Pump) 55:00 [3]

It appears my 'muscles' have no memory - they complained about weights they have easily handled recently. I am very tired so that has something to do with it, I suppose.

Note
(rest day)

Had some ideas of cycling but time got squished. Took rockman to podiatrist for consultation then did some gardening plus took family phone calls so now no time. Back on routine tomorrow. Feet pretty much back to normal now.
