Started off this run pretty cautious on a short leg. Ended up slightly to the west and had to correct.
#2 was straight forward.
#3 was the same control as the night prior, but attacked from a different direction. A longer leg and a chance to get on the map in the daylight. Seemed easy.
#4 I stayed high and came down to the control as the ridge ran out.
#5 was another short easy control. No problems
#6.... 18 minutes of a 50 minute effort... I took the stream route, following it east and then moved to the reentrant headed NW. On the map.. no issues. I started up the spur, N of the reentrant, but I must have been further west than I thought. I hit the wider path, thinking it was the trail and checked it off. Through the reentrant and on to the next where the control should be.... but it isn't. Must be further west... nope. Did I go to far? lets go back south and then east... Did I just miss it in the prior reentrant? Back over and then a realization that I was still short of the control... Not fun.
#7 Short, easy, back on track
#8 Short, easy, 30 degrees off...
#9 I almost tripped on the control it came up so fast. No route deviation required.
#10 and #11 More of the same.
#12 Options/options... Throughout both of these runs, at times it seemed the green/white designations were a bit random. As I exited the reentrant and hit the road, I looked at the hashed section, and it didn't look too bad. I jumped in and didn't move too bad. It was more downed trees than briars. I found an E-W trail and followed it out south of the control.
#13 Short, off by 45 degrees, but easy to find.
#14 and #15 Easy run using the structures to orient.
Sprint to the finish.
I really felt like I was reading the map well on this run. I was probably a bit tentative with my speed. I didn't realize it was only a 4.5k run until 75% complete. I regret #6. It seems I had a good run, minus that control.
