Road/trail 54:30 [2] 4.02 mi (13:33 / mi) +206m 11:42 / mi

Walker around 3p - chilly 34F at the time. Took Eagle Tr to Weblos to WH Road, looked at the scout kiosk and returned on roads. Duked it out with a boxer which isn't like me - thought it may have been a pit bull - & when I picked up a just-in-case-stick, it obviously shifted our encounter to deterioration mode. Initially couldn't decide where to go: Hammond, Page Rd, OJR but Walker felt right. Maybe an O map project there someday.

Seem to have a working relationship with the XT thru Garmin Express & Connect, export the gpx to downloads & pick it up there for AP.

Note

I can’t help but be impolitic. Terrorism under the radar and/or as the cost of doing business...

Road/trail 1:03:40 intensity: (25:00 @1) + (38:40 @2) 4.25 mi (14:59 / mi) +82m 14:08 / mi

SPS around Little Turkey Pond which was part adventure and unexpected at that. Parked at Stickney Hill and was reminded there is a path or SM trail "somewhere" on the west shore of TP and then saw one, little used. It faded in & out, finally out &, at one point, I had to cross what was private field near a house or go back (so I thought). Then I was restricted to Pleasant St. due to houses - finally back into SPS property, down to a bridge to get across the river and back on familiar trails/roads to start. Stopped briefly to speak with two elderly people walking their dogs, the man with a cane, the lady with a walker. Temp low 40s, grey and nice enough to be out & about. Best sighting today was about 25 turkeys on Allen Road, both sides & in no hurry. M & I made it to the slough this morning.

To the Y after the run.

Walk-jog, my get up and go got up and went, today anyway. Interesting sighting on the route was a hunter's stand in "Style Grande"...towering & spacious, aimed for comfort assurance in the already unfair "quest".

Easy to agree! This is a brown and bare December view in Surebridge in 2004. Not sure it captures the essence though.

Road running 1:00:20 [2] 5.42 mi (11:08 / mi) +83m 10:38 / mi

After work, around 55F! Rain last night & clearing today but never got
clearing weather cold. Had 4 miles in mind & was surprised the route in front of my face so to speak turned out to be the length it was. Really need some honest miles, eg, 30mpw would do it for better performance I'd expect.

Read some posts re the 310XT & hope I have better luck. I have noted its ability to turn on when connected to the computer but off. Can cause a complete battery drain if not watched for - has happened twice to me but am now wise to it.

Garmin Connect sat view shows some of the SPS XC trails, the AP does not. Wonder why the difference. The trails are very "under the radar" so it's puzzling unless the view contains history of other users...maybe that's it.

Trail/woods running 1:03:05 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (43:05 @2) 3.25 mi (19:25 / mi) +152m 16:57 / mi

Gray, somber, calm day, pre-rain. A few degrees colder but seemed warmer than yesterday. Got some needed "wilderness tonic" at Kimball Pond. Had an obnoxious experience being between my insurance company and the provider for coverage to tune of $2250 for cataract surgery in mid-February, nine months of obfuscation (on the part of both, I think), perhaps finally fixed. So a place like KP was the right venue. Finally got the 310 to work for me - spent a bunch of time with Garmin Express & Connect & managed to get the gpx to AP via the desktop. Maybe I'll become a fan of Garmin Connect as well.

Green & brown. There is a solitary house, invisible in leaf but unfortunately visible now.

Track 25:00 intensity: (5:00 @1) + (10:00 @2) + (10:00 @3) 2.0 mi (12:30 / mi)

BHS track after work. Hi of 50F forecast but, by 2:45, it wasn't that and was chilly in the shade. Felt/looked like a thin clad. 8' pace is more work than I'm pleased with these days. Youth ran away, gone each and every day. But chase it til the end of the race. The effort might bring a smile to one's face.

Walking 1:15:00 [1] 2.5 km (30:00 / km)

BOS Adopt-a-Trail leaf blow with Beth along. Power trip leaf blowing can be...scattering leaves to the four winds. Was able to walk at a brisk pace still doing a satisfactory job. Went to Glacial Boulder itself. Leaf blower weighs around 20#. Borrowed image & distance from 4/25/14 walk. Too many 305 logs for the area to make location search easy - found what I needed on BOS web page. The 310 battery was not charged in spite of my setting out to charge it. Sunny, pleasant day. Anything else physical was blowing leaves across the yard.
