Note
Disappointing performance this weekend, but I knew going into it that I wasn't going to be in great shape after a month of poor training. Also not surprised that my ankle bothered me on Sunday since I only just identified the root cause a week ago. So it'll take more time than that to resolve.
But also it's clear that I need to modify my training to be less injury prone because they're continually causing injuries that slow me down in the woods or derail my training. Pain in my feet/ankles has been a problem for some time now and it keeps me from pushing all out, particularly in rocky terrains.
So for now I'm going to place more emphasis on quality of running rather than quantity since it appears to be the high impact nature of higher mileage running that's causing the problems.
Also noticing an unusual soreness where the snake bit me. It doesn't hurt, but I haven't felt soreness there before. Possibly caused by significantly exercising a muscle with scar tissue in it.
