I was in better physical shape than last year, but not as prepared for running / navigating in this kind of terrain. After a couple of big errors early on I was not able to motivate myself to try to stay at threshold pace. On the other hand, this prevented me from bonking or cramping up, as opposed to last year's Billygoat and Blue Hills Traverse.
Actually, my hamstrings were close to cramping up on the way down to 16, but I ate some Gu and made it.
