The fun part of the Long (12km) training course. Up to the butterflies (#13), then skip to the bridge and do the two green controls.

Got lazy for one control, losing 40s, otherwise <10s each.

Soooo hot! 33º or some such. Went for a swim afterwards. Then a very local thunderstorm came, temp dropped to 22º according to the car. After we drove 2km back out to where it hadn't rained, it was straight back up to 33/34º.

GPS pod beeped yesterday when it turned on and off, but reverted to its customary silence today.

Ran well enough for the first 9, then I exploded, too hot. Fun, long relevant.

Oinasvaara, no bears to report.

Flies, on the other hand... horseflies like locusts, and then some smaller flies, a tad bigger than normal flies, and they also bite.

Susan, you may as well leave the spray at home.

Shopping for food for Irish, I met other Irish, took about three minutes to find a common friend, longer than usual.
