Red course at White Clay Creek SP. 7.0k, 225m. The map is a bit outdated, so vegetation mapping was unreliable (we were warned) and some trails were less obvious than mapped. Much of the vegetation has shifted towards more scratchy, so the advice was to tend towards using trails, which I did. Quite cold with temps in the mid 30s F and a stiff breeze. OK in the woods but an abrupt change from California last weekend.
Good run navigationally, relying on trails and often walking while in the woods and seeking less scratchy microroutes (wasn't always successful, so there was some blood shed). Lost some time around a few controls where visibility was low. Biggest loss was from 6 to 7 where I got pushed off course in low-visibility vegetation and backed out to take a better route.
