US Nationals Sprint at Pierce College. Brown, 2.2k (straight line), 12m. Typical small college campus with some multi-level areas and some garden areas to make things interesting. Map for Brown was printed at 1:3000. 2m contours but the area used by Brown was pretty flat. Circles and connecting lines were not cut and there were at least two critical passages obscured. And two controls were technically placed in out-of-bounds areas (9 and 14) but could easily be reached from legal areas.
Had a good run. Hesitated going to 10 when I realized I was on the wrong side of a fence but was able to hook around from behind - probably lost about 20 seconds. Second in M65 (and overall on Brown) by 35 seconds.

Susquehanna Stumble at Rocky Ridge County Park near York, PA. Did the Short version, 6.5k, 180m. Long version had the same course as the Short, then picked up a new map for another loop (5.3k) - we all mass started together. Two windows with three controls each (do in any order). Map printed at 1:10,000 but print quality was a bit fuzzy. An abnormally warm day for November with temperatures about 70F. Rain showers earlier in the day but not during the race.
My race went well, helped by the fact that there were others approaching or leaving most of the controls. Was reading the map enough on the run to usually keep track of where I was, so only a few small misses which I recovered from quickly. Flip-flopped with Tom Nolan from about control 7 on but had no chance of staying with him on the 450m uphill (mostly trail run) from the last control to the finish. Ended up 3rd overall for the Short Stumble.
Thanks to Brad and Julie and the rest of the SVO crew for a fine event.
