Trails at Eagle Rock Reservation. Upper 40s, windy with occasional sprinkles. Wind wasn’t too bad in the woods. Bushwhacked a bit at the end to get back to where the car was parked (keying off the communications tower on top of the hill).

Took advantage of a sunny and warm day (for November at 60F) to check three control sites I hadn’t visited yet and to do some tweaks to about five other locations. Made it extra challenging by forgetting to bring a compass (finding near-zero height features - depressions, charcoal platforms, sub-half meter “boulders” - on a big bland hillside with very subtle contour detail). Good training but reduced efficiency. Fortunately the sun was out so I never got too far off my intended track.

Bike-Trail 52:31 intensity: (1:41 @0) + (16:31 @1) + (20:36 @2) + (10:55 @3) + (2:48 @4) 4.63 mi (11:21 / mi) +155m 10:17 / mi

Trails at Coventry Woods Park (oops, guess I violated the embargo so won’t be able to compete in the National Event next Spring). Trails are rocky but not too hard to ride (i.e., no “rock gardens”) and they were also covered with dry leaves, making climbing anything steep a challenge. The park spans a ridge, so there is plenty of climbing to be done and since I parked near the top of the ridge, I had a big climb to get back to the car (a lot of which was pushing the bike). Don’t really need to come back here to bike.
