Flying Pig Day 2 - classic distance on Miami Whitewater Forest map. Upper 40s and windy. 5.6km straight line, 250m climb.

Not a very good run from a navigation standpoint. Overshot #1 and spotted the field about 7 minutes. Also overshot #9 by climbing a contour higher than I should have. Passed right by it and gave up another 3 minutes. Messed up the navigation at the end of the long leg and hit #15 before #14 (3 more minutes). So about 13 minutes of error. Sub-60 was possible.

Finished 5th in M60, ~7 min back (only 2:30 out of 2nd).

Note: Inadvertantly stopped my watch for about a minute between #16 and #17. Time added to total but splits are off. Also missed taking a split at #6.

Flying Pig Sprint on Miami U Hamilton campus. Interesting course with two wooded sections and a section on the quite small campus proper. Navigation in the woods was largely dominated by vegetation.

Had a pretty good run navigationally with one 45-50 second error when I executed the 4-5 leg as I came out of 3 (everything looked OK except there was no bag on the thicket at the end of the leg). Any other time losses were from hesitations or minor sub-optimal route choices. Second in M60, seventh overall on Green A.
